General Information
There is lots to know about the Birmingham Quilters Guild. If you don't find what you are looking for below, fill out the form on our Contact Us page and we will try to answer your question.
Membership
BQG's year runs from September through July. Guild membership is $40 per guild year. You may join at any time during the year, but most members like to renew their membership in July so they don't miss anything in the Fall. If you join after March, your membership dues will be prorated to $25.
To join, you have several options:
1. Fill out the online form and pay your dues through our online directory at Wild Apricot.
2. Print out and complete this form and bring it with your dues to one of our meetings. (cash, check, or money order made payable to BQG.)
3. Or you can mail it to BQG, Box 59106, Homewood, AL 35259 with your dues payment.
Benefits
Membership has its privileges. Members have access to a full year of guild programs, monthly newsletter, the guild library, mini-workshops, classes, retreats, sewing groups, community engagement opportunities, and much more.
Meetings
Guild Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month (except August). We meet at the Homewood Senior Center, located at 816 Oak Grove Road in Homewood.
Everyone usually arrives around 9:00 am to socialize. The business meeting begins at 9:30 am followed by Show and Tell. After a short break, we reconvene for the featured program and are finished by noon.
Workshops
The Guild offers different types of workshops and classes to its members throughout the year. We try to schedule at least one national teacher a year for a program and classes. Mini-workshops are taught by our members. National teacher workshops are open to members at the teacher's going rate. All of these events are held at Valley Christian Church, 2600 Cherokee Place in Mountain Brook.

Retreats
Several times a year, the Guild offers both in-town retreats and offsite retreats to its members. These are always popular and spaces fill up quickly.
