Coming in October...

One of the wonderful benefits of being a member of the Birmingham Quilters Guild is access to workshops and programs taught by nationally known quilt teachers.

In October, the guild will host Nina Clotfelter. In addition to being our guest speaker at the regular guild meeting, she will teach two workshops: “Thread Painting” and “Beginning Feathers.” Find details on our Workshops page. You can also find even more information at Nina’s website at www.ninaquilts.com.

Nina is one creative lady! She has been sewing for 35 years and teaching for 23 years. About eight years ago, she was bitten by the quilting bug and has blossomed as a free motion quilter using a domestic machine. The fascination began with a super king sized quilt and a longarm quilter who wanted more money to quilt it than the fabrics cost. Nina challenged herself to do it on her own...and a domestic sewing machine quilter was born. Nina teaches free motion quilting at quilt shops in the southeast and nothing gives her more pleasure than sharing her passion with others! She has a "you can do it" attitude that is contagious!

Take a class with Nina and you can and will learn, and will build confidence in your new skills. Her instructional style is low pressure, fun, thorough and understandable.

Nina has two grown children and lives in Mobile, Alabama with her quilt trained husband of 26 years.
